Easter:
Everything starts from the day before this holiday. First, we find a wooden basket, in which we will put food. Then, as usually, we bake paska ( traditional sweet bread with raisins for this holiday ). And boil eggs, when the eggs are ready, we usually paint them or cling special stickers, that are sold specifically for eggs. Second, we make sausages or meat. It is accepted to drink wine on this holiday, but for those people, who don't drink alcohol, they can drink just water or mineral drink. As for my family, we don't drink alcohol and we sanctify only water. And third, we go to shop, near our house and buy some fruits ( apples, oranges, kiwi... ). Finally, we put local brown bread, eggs, meat, paska, water, fruits, and for Ukrainian traditions salt in basket. And this day came, a holiday Easter, we often stand up at six o'clock and go to church, to sanctify this basket. After that, we went out into church, we fight the eggs of house and eat them, on consuetudes, for whom an egg will be broken up the last, that will have a successful year.
New Year:
We usually begin our preparations with twelve o'clock of day. For example, I cook our New Year biscuits, granny is cooking New Year traditional Ukrainian dishes. In storage of traditional Ukrainian dishes on New Year enter: salad oliv"e, meat, kutia, potatoes, well and certainly champagne. Then, we go to supermarket and buy a fir-tree. We usually decorate a fir-tree with garlands and toys, I usually hang on a fir-tree candies and cotton wool for beauty, and at last, we hang flashlights on a fir-tree, although I like to put under a fir-tree the sign of zodiac of New Year, it on consuetudes brings luck in a house. And at last I clean kitchen and we lay the table. I like to wear different new dresses, of course for the sign of zodiac in New Year. And this time came, twelve o'clock, night, we set fire flashlights on a fir-tree, singe the wishes, which we have written on serviette, and for traditions tailings of this serviette we put in no alcohol champagne and drink it with our wishes, and then your wishes certainly will come true!
